Those investigating surgical options, should be completely informed of the choices available. Patients and their healthcare providers, should have a comprehensive, detail  and clear understanding of the surgical procedures desired, those that are offered by their surgeon and the one that the patient wishes to have.

There are patients who have found out, later on after surgery, that infact they did not have the Duodendal Switch (DS) oepration but rather the SIPS/SADI procedures.
